RETURN!

The entire “dream cast” returns in The Musical of Musicals:  The
Musical, “a gem of a show” about other famous Broadway shows
with amusingly naughty twists. In just ninety minutes,  the four-
member cast presents five musicals parodying five very different
styles…that means Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim,
Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kander & Ebb. This
outrageous evening is a whirlwind of jokes, as show after show is
lambasted and skewered with unparalleled wit and wry humor.  
Receiving rave reviews during its initial 2009 run, The Baltimore
Sun heralded it as “another triumph in Standing O’s growing list.”

52 cards, each with a different scene from a relationship written
on them, are thrown high into the air. Thus begins the theatrical
experiment of 52 Pick-Up.  The two actors then proceed to pick up
a card and perform that scene. Sounds like a gimmick, yet the
story is beautifully observed no matter how it shakes out.  
Veteran stage actors and real-life couple Duncan and Dianne Hood
return in this  spontaneous evening in the theatre, which is
delightfully different every night.

Set in 1982, on Manhattan's Upper West Side, Kenneth Lonergan's This is
Our Youth follows twenty-four hours of three very lost young souls in the big
city at the dawn of the Reagan Era: Warren Straub, a dejected nineteen year
old who steals fifteen thousand dollars from his abusive lingerie-tycoon
father; Dennis Ziegler, the charismatic domineering drug-dealing friend who
helps him put the money to good use; and Jessica Goldman, the anxiously
insightful young woman Warren yearns for.  Hilarious, poignant, and
meticulous, This is Our Youth is a living snapshot of the moment between
adolescence and adulthood when many young people first go out into the
world on their own, armed only with the ideas and techniques they
developed as teenagers-ideas and techniques far more sophisticated than
their parents ever realize, and far less effectual than they themselves can
possibly imagine.
